Water bores

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the bore guaranteed?

Yes, The Boreman gives every purchaser a written 10 year guarantee.

Do I have to pay for bore water?

No, it is absolutely free, there is no cost to you whatsoever for your groundwater usage.

Can I drink the bore water?

No, while most of Perth’s groundwater is clean and fresh, it is recommended to have it tested as it may not be suitable for human consumption.

What happens if you can’t find water when you are drilling on our property?

Whilst this is a very rare occurrence, it can happen. The Boreman’s practice here is a simple “No Water, No Charge”.

Can I water on any day with my bore?

You are allowed to water 3 days per week between 6pm and 9am. This is common sense as up to 50% of the water can be lost by evaporation during the day.

Can I put the bore where I want?

Yes, as long as it is on your actual property and our truck can get into position. It is best to position the bore in the front yard for easy access in the future, and it is best to keep it at least 3 metres from the house and any trees.

Can I have a separate tap for topping up the pool and general hosing around?

Yes, this can be easily organised when ordering your bore. You can have an ordinary manual tap or you can ask for an exclusive smart tap

How long will the job take to complete?

The whole process can take one to three days overall, depending on the bore depth required and connection to the power and reticulation.

Will there be any mess after you have finished?

Yes, There will be some sand from the drilling which can be removed by the Boreman at our nominal cost if required, leaving your garden as tidy as possible, however it is a major job and some disturbance to the site is to be expected.

Do I need to carry out any sort of maintenance on the bore?

No, The Boreman uses only the best pumps and fittings available, which ensures up to 25 years of maintenance free groundwater.

Is the bore visible when it is finished?

No, the lid is 450mm long & 300mm wide. It can be positioned under the lawn or garden. Typically it will be about 150mm under the surface.
